This presentation will review the importance of reading with children from birth and share books that are appropriate by age. Classics and current books will be shared. Options for book access, such as Imagination library, public library, will be discussed.

Ceola Friday is a passionate educator and advocate in early childhood education, with a legacy of over 40 years in the field. Ceola holds a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and a master’s from Ball State University – a testament to her commitment to advancing knowledge and expertise in the crucial formative years of a child’s life.
Currently serving as a Program Chair for Ivy Tech Community College in Marion, Indiana, Ceola brings her experience and passions to higher education. Her journey has been marked by her dedication to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for her students, parents, and fellow educators.
Throughout her career, Ceola has shared her love of literacy and early interventions in a child’s life outside of the classroom. In doing so, she has contributed to the local Chronicle Tribune – writing book reviews for the community newspaper for over 10 years. To share her passion of learning and reading – her favorite thing to give is a book for those young and old!
