Perspectives in Early Childhood
GCECC 2024 Annual ConferenceTrauma, Adversity and Your Brain
presented by Jessica Pierce
In this session, participants will learn the adverse effects of childhood trauma on the developing brain. Educators play a pivotal role in helping children become resilient and learn to self-regulate. Activities for children will be discussed as well. After participating in large and small group discussions, participants will identify one strategy that they are already using and one new strategy that they will implement this week to promote self-regulation skills in the classroom.
