Annual volunteer event returns Friday, September 18, as the official kickoff of the United Way campaign season
United Way of Grant County is proud to announce its 2026 Day of Action, a community-wide day of volunteering and celebration set for Friday, September 18, 2026. The event brings together residents, businesses, and local nonprofits to roll up their sleeves and take meaningful action on issues including education, literacy, and community well-being.
Day of Action serves as the official kickoff of United Way of Grant County’s annual campaign – a celebration of the power of collective impact. Participants can expect hands-on volunteer projects across the community, a free lunch for all volunteers, and an Impact Celebration recognizing the day’s achievements.
“Together, let’s roll up our sleeves and build something better,” said LeeAnna Smith of United Way of Grant County. “Day of Action is about more than one day of volunteering – it’s about showing what Grant County can accomplish when we work together.”
This year’s event is made possible with the generous support of community sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities range from $1,500 to $7,500, offering benefits including logo placement on event banners and participant t-shirts, social media recognition, and exclusive features such as a spotlight video (Visionary Sponsor). Businesses interested in supporting the Day of Action are encouraged to contact United Way of Grant County as soon as possible, as sponsorship space is limited. Dozens of Grant County nonprofit organizations will participate in the event, connecting volunteers directly with local agencies working across United Way’s four pillars: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency.
