Every person in Grant County deserves the opportunity to thrive. That belief is the foundation of everything United Way of Grant County does – and it is what brought a new community resource to life.
United Way of Grant County is proud to announce the official launch of the Grant County Volunteer Hub, a free online platform connecting residents, families, and businesses with volunteer opportunities across the county. The Hub is live now at volunteer.uwgrant.com – and the community is invited to celebrate its official ribbon cutting on Tuesday, June 17, 2026, at 215 S Adams St. in Marion. The event is free and open to the public.
For years, one of the most consistent things people told United Way was simple: they wanted to help, but did not know where to start. The Volunteer Hub is the answer. It puts the full picture of community need in one place and gives every person in Grant County a clear, immediate way to respond.
“Volunteering is one of the most powerful things a person can do for their community,” said LeeAnna Smith, Executive Director of United Way of Grant County. “When people show up for one another, it changes lives – not just for those being served, but for the volunteers themselves. This platform lowers the barrier so more people in Grant County can be part of that.”
Powered by Galaxy Digital, the Hub is designed for anyone who wants to get involved. Individuals can search for opportunities by cause area, date, or organization. Families and groups – from business teams to faith communities to school clubs – can find projects that fit their size and schedule. Local nonprofits and agencies can post openings directly, creating a real-time, searchable map of where help is needed most.
“This is not just a website,” said Kayla Johnson, Impact Coordinator for United Way of Grant County. “It is infrastructure for community. When organizations can connect with the right volunteers at the right time, they accomplish more. And when more people are engaged, our community becomes more resilient.”
The Volunteer Hub reflects United Way’s commitment to Community Resiliency – one of the organization’s four pillars alongside Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, and Financial Security. Volunteers have always been at the center of that work, from literacy program support and Day of Action projects to year-round partnerships with Grant County nonprofits and school districts. The Hub gives that energy a permanent, accessible home.
The platform is free for both volunteers and organizations. Nonprofits serving Grant County are encouraged to create a profile and begin posting opportunities today at volunteer.uwgrant.com. Businesses, nonprofits, and other groups that want personalized help getting started can reach out to Kayla Johnson directly at kayla@uwgrant.com.
